I never thought I could feel worse

Posted in Group:

I never thought I could feel worse than the OCD makes me feel, but now I am being made fun of, losing people, people yelling at me and calling me names. Telling me to snap out of it. Stop acting that way etc. I really am starting to feel alone...and I Am finding less and less will to fight anything from it. Where do I begin?

OCD is such a difficult disorder to challenge, and its very hard for other's to full grasp how much power it can have. One thing that you can do is to see a therapist who specializes in OCD. If you are unable to do that at this time, I have a book recommendation for you that several of my therapist colleagues have stated is very good for OCD:

I hope this helps!

Thank you. There are doctors around here who specialize in OCD but guess what? They do not take my insurance (medicaid) and I can't afford to pay. I will find a way and check out the book you told me about.

I understand, so many of those who do specialize do not take medicaid...it can seem so unfair. Try this book, I really enjoy it and find it very helpful- but it does take work and it helps to have a support system that is encouraging you. Is there anyone in your life right now that supports you through this?

Warmly,
Kellie Montgomery, LMFT
